Emeril Lagasse Foundation Kitchen House and Culinary Garden
HuntonBrady served as the architect of record for the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Kitchen House and Culinary Garden, a 3,500 SF kitchen and community space that includes a 1,500 SF garden.
The facility is an educational resource for adults and children. It also supports the Edible Education Experience, a local nonprofit that takes cooking and gardening lessons into schools. Through an edible education experience, life skills are taught to a diverse community of students and families, enabling them to grow their own food and cook delicious, affordable, nutritious meals. Integrated into each experience is the joy of learning, the benefit of activity, and time to express gratitude for God’s abundant provisions.
Orlando Junior Academy donated the land, the Emeril Lagasse Foundation donated $250,000, and AdventHealth for Children donated $450,000.
The designers created dramatic open spaces, full of volume, natural light, and a logical progression from public to private spaces.
