Lakeland Regional Health Bannasch Institute for Advanced Rehabilitation
Lakeland Regional Health
The Bannasch Institute was developed to provide patients who must continue intensive therapeutic rehabilitation services to do so in a close-to-home state-of-the-art setting. The concept and design were created with input from industry experts to offer patient-centered care that promotes the highest degree of independence possible.
The institute includes a 32-bed inpatient unit that was formerly a general medicine floor. The entire space was demolished and reconfigured into neighborhoods of care for specialized orthopedic, neurologic, and brain injury services. An integrated ceiling lift system is located to assist mobility in rooms and in corridors.
Other features include the adjacent 2,300 SF physical therapy gym, a multifunctional day room for dining, education and therapeutic activities; a family space and outdoor rehabilitation garden.
